A surge of interest in the build-to-rent (BTR) housing sector in Australia is drawing in large numbers of international investors. Developers are piling into commercially-operated rental housing with tenants in place and which helps to drive Australia’s social goals towards providing a consistent stock of acceptable housing. Whilst BTR represents just a fraction of one per cent of Australia’s completed housing stock, analysts predict the market will grow many times over to become one market worth in excess of AU$290 billion.
